Top Tech News from Asia in 2018

For all those tech fans out there you probably already know that it’s been a pretty busy year here in Asia. Things just keep looking up for startups in Asia lately and to give you a little taste of what exactly I am talking about, here are our top 2018 picks.

BeFast.TV attended Brinc’s VIP Investor Demo Day in Hong Kong, where we got to check out all the latest hardware innovation and cool emerging startups being showcased to Top VCs. If you are a startup looking to branch out to Hong Kong or if you are an investor looking for the next big thing, be in the lookout for these awesome demo days!

… And just when you thought that only startups innovate and transform communities, corporates such as KPMG have caught up fast and they use their own cutting-edge tech to lead the future of financial services. Earlier this year, KPMG hosted the Global Tech Share Forum – a client networking Global and Regional TMT Sector leaders from all around Asia. The event hosted the KPMG team from the UK, US and 10 different markets in the Asia Pacific along with clients ranging from Tech Start-ups and Multinationals who got together to solve the digital challenges in our markets. Let us show all the exciting happenings that took place at this elite forum. We can’t wait to check out KPMGs upcoming tech initiatives and you should too, trust me it will be worth your while.

Speaking of tech, did you know that even beggars in China are now accepting e-payments? From convenience stores, shopping malls, restaurants to local grocery stores and small-scale vendors, mobile payments are used everywhere in chinese cities transforming China into a cashless society. Our special guest, Elaine Ann, the CEO and Chief Innovation Strategist of Kaizor Innovation, joined us at our studio and spoke about a variety of topics including China being the most cashless society in the world. We even had the pleasure of getting a one on one “master class” on all the functions of Wechat. One of the most interesting subjects she touched on how her company helps western tech companies strategize their products for the Chinese market. But enough of my chit chat, check out the video for yourself.

There is no doubt that 2018 was a crazy year in the startup ecosystem here in Hong Kong and it sure makes 2019 look even more promising.
