Panel Discussion: The Future of Custody


Beginning her career as a software developer and adjunct professor at UCSB focused on real-time embedded systems, operating systems internals, network protocols, voice processing, computer graphics and security, led to several years focusing on Expert Witness/Analysis for antitrust, copyright and trade-secret litigation (DOJ vs. Microsoft, HP, Hyundai, Sun Microsystems and others). Having experienced 4 of successful exits via IPO or M&A, she co-founded and ran an investment bank (Series 7, 24 and 63). This perfect storm logically led to Blockchain and Crypto where is she is now Head of Corporate Development at Tokensoft.io

A multi-lingual, global executive – Maureen has lived, worked and built businesses on three continents. Her focuses are in financial advisory, private equity investing (direct, secondary, primary, and co-investment) and business development/ product creation/ partnership alliance experience in developed and emerging economies led her to her current position as the Managing Director at Sharepost 100 Fund.

Julie comes to us with an extensive background in financial services regulatory compliance including experience facing the SEC, FINRA, NYSE, NASDAQ, Fannie Mae and Freddie Mac as well as offices of the Attorney General in a multitude of states on behalf of financial services organizations. She brings a wealth of information as the leader of Titan Regulation providing regulatory compliance consulting services to registered investment advisers, broker-dealers, commodity pool operators and commodity trading advisors.

  • Lauren Abendschein, Coinbase, Manager in Institutional Coverage

Lauren rose to be a Director at Credit Suisse, starting her career in the firm’s Hong Kong-based Capital Services group where she connected hedge funds with institutional allocators. Most recently, she was responsible for coverage of hedge funds at Credit Suisse’s West Coast Prime Services group based in San Francisco. Lauren has an MBA from Haas School of Business at UC Berkeley. At Coinbase, she covers institutional products including Prime and Custody.
