Morgan is an ex-Google researcher, a New-Zealand hacker and one of the founders of the KiwiCON hacker conference that has a made a name for himself as the director of security for First Look Media as well as for being a valuable contributing writer to The Intercept, and has been profiled by a myriad of news and media companies worldwide. His research spectrum covers topics from surveillance to censorship and the digital targeting of activists and journalists has been featured in numerous print and online publications. He is also a Special Advisor to the Electronic Frontier Foundation in San Francisco and an Advisor to the United Nations Inter-regional Crime and Justice Research Institute. In addition to this, he serves as a member of the Freedom of the Press Foundation advisory board and as an advisor to Amnesty International.
