On this episode of China Business Hour, we talk Shenzhen, Chinese financial markets & the power of WeChat in China.

1) Many people call Shenzhen the Silicon Valley of Hardware. Tech scene is huge in Shenzhen, however, it has much more to offer.

2) China is a big country (around 1.3 billion people live in the Middle Kingdom. But, what implication does it have for the financial markets?

3) WeChat accounts for around 35% of time people spend on the internet in China. Over 650M out of ~800M internet users use WeChat as a social and/or money transaction platform. And there is more, of course.

 

Jan Smejkal is a young entrepreneur from the Czech Republic and dreamer currently on my life’s mission in China. His experience includes building a branch of global startup for Rocket Internet, founding and running an international trading company and being part of the Hult Prize Foundation that strives to change the world by bringing together the brightest students from all around the globe.
