SLUSH Singapore: The Tech Evolution Has Returned!
If there is an event in Singapore worthy of the title “game changer” and guaranteed to define expectations for each person is SLUSH Singapore. This dynamic tech phenomenon makes its way back to Singapore with a mind blowing lineup which offers entrepreneurs with some of the best opportunities and experiences in the startup community.
Slush Singapore 2017 definitely means business this year and with the success and global impact of last year’s event, this year will be nothing short of unprecedented and outstanding. With the amount of attendees, startups, prestigious speakers and devoted volunteers, this year’s Slush event will be massive. As every startups dream is to find potential investors, Slush gives these startups the podium to showcase their business proving that this event, second time round, will be pandemonium.
So what is it about this Slush 2017 that makes it so different to last year’s event?
There are two answers to this. Firstly, it’s about the over 2,500 participants who will be gathered at the event and secondly it’s about what one can expect to experience when they walk through those doors.
Set in the iconic Marina Bay Convention Centre, filled with colourful lights illuminating the whole venue, the event contains three different stages marked in white, black and grey, which will host a series of different talks with themes that include; Future Forward (targets growing technologies in communities), Into the Entrepreneur Mind and Ethics-Into the Grey Area. Prominent entrepreneurs will grace these stages with their influential presence as they look to uplift and inspire aspiring entrepreneurs and business people. Examples of some of these keynote speakers are former prime minister of Estonia and Vice President of the Estonian Parliament, Mr Taavi Roivas, and first former employee of Skype and now co-founder and chairman of Transferwise, Mr Taavet Hinritus.
Talks will kick start at 10:15am with Steve Leonard, founder and CEO of SGInnovate and continue with different speakers all the way until 17:05pm. With over seven hours of non stop business giants sharing what they have learnt in the innovation and technology community, attendees are sure to undergo a tumultuous experience.
In another area of this widespread venue, lies startup demo booths that will accommodate over 75 startups where they will get the opportunity to display their business to attract people. In addition to the startup booths, there will be an exhibition area with twelve individual categories such as Bizmind, Kasher and plugIt. With a variety of activities planned for the day, participants get the opportunity to take part in the activities of their choice. At the end of the day, the event will culminate to an after party at the venue, where participants can let loose and conclude the day on an ultimate high.
But if you think that this is all the activities that the event has to offer you are highly mistaken. There is no way that an event this grand wouldn’t contain any buried treasures. Apart from the actual event starting on 19 September 2017, there will be a pre-event that takes place on 18 September 2017 called Partners, Investors and Founder’s day. In this pre-vent corporate partners and investors will come together to discuss obstacles in the tech field as well as networking through a round table which will be moderated by five investors such as Cocoon and Patamar Capital, just to name a few. Also on this day, Slush will host the first round of pitch competition for startups. The second and final round of the pitch competition will take place on the 19 September at the main event where winners will walk away with a prize from investors.
Now if Slush Singapore is not an event that gears entrepreneurs up for a once in a life time business experience, then I don’t know what will. This sought after event has been created to ensure that there is something for everybody to enjoy so don’t hold back. Make your way to Slush Singapore on the 19 September 2017 and get ready to be evolved.
